The Cytec Range
As well as locking cylinders Cytec produce a range of clamping and coupling devices which have found many applications for system automation whether in the plastic moulding industry or car production plants. Introduction

ND Precision Products, an injection mould toolmaker based in Devon, UK, has seen growing interest in their latest investments and new services being offered to new and existing customers.

The recent purchase of laser welding equipment (Alpha Laser ALW Vario 150) has attracted companies looking to repair tooling rather than replace. Modification lead times have also been greatly reduced for ‘metal on’ scenarios.

In addition to the wide range, the development of MultiCheck  dramatically cuts the time taken in checking threads over a specified depth by measurement with a depth gauge.  The MultiCheck has a depth measuring sleeve which is screwed in and the depth up to 3 x normal thread diameter can be read easily off the sleeve.  If this is not sufficient, then there is a Vernier MultiCheck with 0.1mm resolution, or a digital readout MultiCheck with 0.01mm.

Most cutting tools have a flute length that exceeds the cut being taken. The worn portion can be ground back and new end teeth ground to allow unused flutes to be utilised, ball radii can be reground. Simply using part of a tool once is an expensive option. This work is usually carried out on its Walter Helitronic CNC machine. Tools can be recoated if desired.

To enable new tools to be manufactured the company has a large stock of carbide and HSS rod, ready to be cut to the required length, to enable tools to be manufactured and despatched quickly.

Bridgeport started production of the Bridgeport ( under license from Bridgeport America by Adcock and Shipley) in 1962 . A total of 50,000 machines were produced at the Bridlington factory.

The workforce are all Bridgeport trained machine tool craftsmen. Terry Braithwaite, the proprietor, started a craft apprenticeship with  Adcock and Shipley in 1968. The Bridgeport has changed very little over the years and there is still a big demand for the versatile machine.

As well as rebuilding customers machines Braithwaite also  supplies rebuilt Bridgeports, Align air power draw bars, Align X-Y-Z axis power feeds,new imported bed mills and turret mills, digital readout systems, Acurite MILL/PWR CNC control,vices, indexing equipment, and  30/40/50 int CNC tooling as well as ER collets and toolholders R8 collets, chucks and precision keyless chucks.
