Grants to help training and apprentices
The future prosperity of the UK economy is dependent upon young people taking up engineering as a career, together with those that wish to further develop their skills.
The Tooling Trust is playing an active role in promoting the study and practice of precision manufacturing technologies, with particular emphasis on the precision engineering sector of gauge and toolmaking.
As a registered charity, The Tooling Trust achieves this through the provision of grants to support training and apprenticeships for those looking to develop careers within the precision manufacturing technology sector.
Typical of its activities is the award of grants for GTMA training activities such as the Business Development programme; grants that enable employees to attend relevant, industry recognised courses; and funding of the GTMA Apprentice of the Year competition.
In awarding these grants, The Tooling Trust is assisting those involved in precision manufacturing technologies in retaining and developing the inherent strengths within the UK’s manufacturing sector.
