- meeting buyer requirements
The automotive sector continues to be a major area of business for GTMA member companies – and GTMA continues to grow its contacts throughout the industry.
We have been helped in meeting buyer requirements by OEMs including Bentley, JCB, the Morgan Motor Company and Red Bull Racing (to name a few).
Our members are very experienced in the sector and the GTMA Automotive Network has 90-plus companies involved in wide ranging products and services from tooling and measurement systems to specialist materials supplies and precision engineering.
Examples include:
•Producing prototypes for innovative engine management systems to reduce fuel emissions
•Supplying critical measurement systems for Formula 1
•Using Additive manufacturing techniques for production added value
•Supplying production software which helped reduce machining cycle times by 40% in a Japanese auto plant
As well as mainstream automotive, GTMA and its companies are very involved in niche market sectors including off-road, low carbon technologies, motor racing and high end luxury and custom vehicles.
At the same time GTMA has been a major player in the EU project Flexform which made important breakthroughs to help in the production of special vehicles, especially where low volumes are involved. It has developed automated manufacturing technology for the production of small batches of metal parts.
