In 2009, the UK market for plastic packaging was worth an estimated £3.47bn, having been one of the most dynamic sectors of the UK packaging industry during the previous decade. Between 2005 and 2008, the UK market value grew by 15.6%, but growth fell in 2009, mainly due to the economic downturn.
