Closed Loop Production Cell to Demonstrate Data-Driven Manufacturing in Action at Stuttgart Event
Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence has announced an ambitious technology showcase for Control, the international trade fair for quality assurance. The Hexagon stand will feature a live presentation of manufacturing intelligence principles as the company brings together its CAD/CAM, metrology and statistical process control solutions to create an automated feedback loop that demonstrates how quality drives productivity in a shop-floor production environment.
Welcoming around 900 exhibitors from over 30 countries, Control brings together an international community of users and suppliers of quality assurance systems and related technologies. The 2016 event attracted nearly 27 000 attendees, and organisers are hoping to exceed that total this year.
“Control focuses on how quality makes the difference,” said Marcel Brand, Director Marketing & Communications at Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence. “At this year’s show, we are excited to be demonstrating a system that will allow visitors to see this happening right in front of their eyes. Modern manufacturing is all about the intelligent use of data to inform decisions and make continuous efficiency improvements, and we look forward to speaking with Control attendees about how smart technology can be used to increase productivity.”
As well as the closed loop cell, the Hexagon stand will showcase hardware and software solutions from the company’s broad portfolio of metrology and manufacturing equipment in a range of application areas. Attendees will be able to get hands-on and test the latest products, and learn how industrial measurement has progressed towards quality-informed process control. New this year is the Innovation Area where visitors can see the latest technology launches including the brand new Leica Absolute Tracker AT403 3D laser tracker system, the updated ROMER Absolute Arm with integrated scanner, and the innovative Composite Inspection System.
Control 2017 runs from 9 to 12 May at Landesmesse Stuttgart in Germany. To see manufacturing intelligence in action, visit Hexagon on Stand 5400 / 5302 / 5202 / 5200 in Hall 5.
