Astarcor is a totally integrated supplier dedicated to meeting customer requirements and, in particular, working alongside plastics product designers from concept to reality.
The company has benefited from being located in three modern units in High Wycombe, close to Exit 4 of the M40, which for many years has been the centre of moulding excellence in the Thames Valley where many supporting tool and mouldmaking service providers are also to be found.
Quality has always been key to its operation and all moulds can be tried and tested using the company’s in-house state of the art Krauss Maffei injection moulding presses, which includes two-shot and gas injection.
The company is committed to partnership working with product designers and moulders at all stages of the project, from initial concept, through tool design, manufacture, trials, and inspection and into production.
Using these close relationships with customers it uses early involvement in component design, concurrent engineering and modern manufacturing methods to reduce the time into production for new projects. Astarcor’s continuous investment policy, keeps it up to date with modern technology, starting with the CATIA 3D CAD software (3D surfaces and solid modeling facilities) networked to the DELCAM CAM package and CNC production machines. The EDM department has manual and CNC machines all Charmilles Through to CNC milling department with hardened machining.

In all sectors it can offer a totally integrated approach as it is very conversant with managing major international tool programs. Responsible for program management, design, manufacture, tool trials, inspection through to production. This mitigates programme risk through concurrent ‘design and make’ via massive wholly owned capacity within a group that is financially strong and commercially structured to deliver cost effective tooling.
Astarcor has confidence in the future of the UK plastics industry and consequently plays its part in encouraging lecturers, students and local school children to appreciate the value of the sustainability of well designed plastic products. To this end the company supports the firmly established Polymer Study Tours, which are promoted and organised by the Worshipful Company of Horners. Astarcor also has well proven overseas tooling partners in order to further serve today’s global market place.
