Daniel Parker, Quality Manager, Pursuit Aerospace, UK

Presentation Title – Maintaining quality within a fast paced ever evolving Aerospace industry

Presentation Overview – Discuss how we as Pursuit have ensured our inspection & measurement processes and practices have moved with the times, to ensure we can maintain customer demand within the fast-paced Aerospace sector without this impacting on the product quality we supply.

Daniel Parker Biog - After completing an engineering technical support apprenticeship in an aluminium diecasting company, I moved into the Aerospace industry with Merc Aerospace.

Employed as a CMM programmer to program complex Aerospace, Oil & Gas, and military components for production.  Spent several years continuously improving the CMM setup within the business before moving up into the role of inspection manager.  As inspection manager helped develop a quality structure which ensured Merc’s commitment to supplying its customer base with high precision product.

My commitment to quality and continuous improvement allowed me to progress further into my current role as Quality Manager, ensuring the continued compliance to AS9100 and customer accreditations (BAE, Airbus, Moog Aircraft).

Over the 11 years I have managed to obtain several qualifications, HND, AS9100 Lead Audit, Green Belt 6Sigma to name a few.  The success of Merc Aerospace within the industry meant that in August 2024 we were acquired by our customer Pursuit Aerospace and became part of their ever-growing family.  This has now given me the opportunity to work across 2 sites in the UK (Barrowford & Burnley) and transfer the successes achieved at Merc into Pursuit Burnley UK’s facility.
