We are delighted to announce the launch of our Toolmaking & Tooling Technologies event, which will take place on 14th May 2026 at the prestigious Yamazaki Mazak European Technology Centre in Worcester.
This specialist one-day event will showcase the very latest innovations with Injection Mould & Press toolmaking, tooling technologies, and precision engineering, bringing together leading suppliers, buyers, and manufacturers from across the UK.
Building on GTMA’s heritage of supporting UK manufacturing since 1942, the Toolmaking & Tooling Technologies event will provide a unique platform for:
- Exhibitors to demonstrate Injection Mould & Press toolmaking expertise, developments in tooling technologies and advances in precision Machining
- OEMs and Tier 1s to connect directly with innovative SMEs.
- Delegates to gain insight into emerging technologies shaping the future of advanced engineering.
Hosted at Yamazaki Mazak’s state-of-the-art facility, the event will also include guided tours of the Technology Centre, giving attendees the opportunity to see world-leading machine tools in action.

Personal Biog:
I started work with HellermannTyton in Manchester in 1999, as a Toolmaker Apprentice, working in combination with Tameside College.
I finished my apprenticeship in 2003 and worked as a toolmaker until 2011, using a wide variety of machines (Manual and CNC)
In 2011, I was asked to take over a development project to manufacture a suite of automated stainless-steel printers for the Mining sector, which put me in charge of my own small department.
In 2013, after successful development, the project was moved to our German facility for mass production of machines, and I was forced to resume my toolmaker role.
At this time, I decided to take the opportunity to study with the open University, and completed my business management degree, and my master’s degree in systems thinking.
In 2015, I took up the departmental continuous improvement role, and then in 2017 was asked to fill a newly created project and planning engineering role (Where I would oversee all project planning for tooling, including all financial and technical aspects of tooling and equipment procurement)
After 5 years in this role, I was asked to take over management of the HellermannTyton Manchester toolroom as toolroom Manager, which was combining my previous role with the day-to-day management of the toolroom work force.
In 2024 I was asked to take over the role of Tooling Manager, which means that I am now responsible for all tooling activity (Not just the toolroom) for HellermannTyton Manchester, and I also work closely with our Global team

Tool Improvement
Tool Refurbishment
Tool Maintenance and Repair
Tool trials and testing
As well as working on New Tooling concepts for sustainable and Bio-degradable materials.

HellermannTyton has been manufacturing cable management products in Wythenshawe, Manchester since 1933, firstly as the Insuloid Manufacturing Company, and amalgamating with the Paul Hellermann company in 1964.
We are a Global leader in the manufacture of cable management products, primarily working with injection and extrusion moulding.
The business is now owned by DELPHI the American automotive giant, who manufacture and supply automotive parts to many of the world’s biggest car manufacturers.
In Manchester we make over 100 million cable management products a week, which are shipped to our German facility near Hamburg, before distribution globally.
