Hexagon Metrology wins Innovation Award

Leading automotive industry publication AutoRevista recognises transformational technology Hexagon Metrology’s 360° SIMS system has been awarded the AutoRevista Technological Innovation Award by a top industry magazine based in Spain. AutoRevista has been presenting this award to companies and organisations that are known for their excellence in innovation since 2006.

This important prize was presented yesterday, 26 November, during the 24th edition of the Automotive Industry Manager of the Year Award, with the ceremony held at the Intercontinental Hotel of Madrid. The AutoRevista Technological Innovation Award was received by Mr. Per Holmberg, President, Hexagon Metrology EMEA, who was accompanied at this event by managers from the technological development team of 360º SIMS, and members of the local technical team from Spain, led by Mr. Jordi Edo, Director of the Hexagon Metrology affiliate for Spain and Portugal.


The jury awarded the prize to Hexagon Metrology “for the extraordinary advances in dimensional metrology technology that has provided this solution for white light measurement – 360° Smart Inline Measurement Solutions (SIMS). This proposal is radically transforming quality and production management parameters in the car industry.” The 360º SIMS solution from Hexagon Metrology has a very direct application in car production factories and has already been deployed by major global manufacturers. Introducing the inline measurement concept, 360º SIMS allows analyses of the entire surface with measurement of critical features for 100% of car bodywork, sub-assemblies and unit parts in the production cycle period.
