Commercial aircraft orders grew 168% in January 2025 compared to January 2024, significantly exceeding the five-year average of 67, new figures from the industry trade body show.
According to ADS, the latest commercial aircraft data further highlights a sustained growth in aircraft deliveries, with 71 delivered in January 2025 marking the highest January delivery rate since 2019. The strong January order rebound signals a return of confidence among airline decision-makers, echoing trends seen in 2022 and 2023. Standing at 15,834 aircraft, the backlog represents up to £258bn in value for the UK and more than a decade’s worth of work
Aircraft manufacturer, Airbus, has raised its annual shareholder dividend on the back on delivering on its 2024 guidance.
Chief executive, Guillaume Faury, said: “We achieved strong order intake across all businesses in 2024. We delivered on our 2024 guidance in what was a testing year for Airbus.” “We refocused our efforts on key priorities, notably the production ramp-up and the transformation of Defence and Space. We continue to pursue profitable growth and our decarbonisation ambition.
