Vertical Aerospace (VA) is planning to set up a factory at the Cotswold Airport to produce 25 flying taxis, called the VX4, per year.

The Bristol-based company said it is hoping to have the all-electric taxi certified for commercial use by 2028.

VA said it will also build a new battery facility next to its research and development centre in Avonmouth to triple production of the battery packs needed for the VX4.  This facility will provide production capacity into 2030 and brings Vertical’s total energy centre footprint to 45,000 sq. ft.
