The RMI and Centre for Green Market Activation have launched a new ‘Sustainable Concrete Buyers Alliance’, which will aggregate demand for low-carbon cement and concrete. This duo of organisations claims the Alliance is the first of its kind in the world. It will mirror similar buyers’ clubs for alternative aviation fuels and low-carbon steel.
Through the Alliance, businesses will collectively support a joint purchase of certificates which support the production of tonnes of low-carbon cement and concrete. They may not directly use these materials in their own projects.
