Energy News – September 2026
The UK attracted 27 energy-related foreign direct investment (FDI) projects during 2025 – down 51% from the 55 projects secured in 2024 and at the lowest annual total since the 14 projects in 2013.
Analysis from EY still places the UK as the second most attractive location in Europe for projects – including oil and gas, utility supply, renewable energy, transmission and storage – behind France, but ahead of Germany and Spain.
