Swindon Borough Council is exploring closer collaboration with BMW Group’s MINI Plant Swindon to strengthen local supply chains and support advanced manufacturing growth.

Council leader Cllr Gary Sumner visited the facility, which supports around 600 jobs locally, to discuss the plant’s future plans and potential partnership opportunities.

The site, which has a manufacturing heritage dating back to 1954, is described by the company as one of the most advanced facilities of its kind in the UK.

Cllr Gary Sumner, leader of Swindon Borough Council, said: “BMW MINI is one of Swindon’s manufacturing success stories and a hugely important employer for our borough. It was great to meet Roger and the team to hear about their plans for the future and learn more about the innovation taking place at the site.”
