Faulkner Moulds in Elland, West Yorkshire, is now the very first company in the UK to own and operate a QCT Quantum 4 Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM).
As an ISO9001 accredited company, Faulkner Moulds is committed to providing their customers with plastic injection mould tooling that meets the very highest of specifications and the tightest of tolerances.
As Managing Director, Duncan Faulkner explains, “We invest in the best machinery and equipment available to achieve the finest results in our mouldings. For example, our top of the range CNC Spark Eroder can machine to an accuracy of half a micron. The new CMM machine allows us to check the quality and precision of our work to an accuracy of a micron, and supports our commitment to our customers and to maintaining our ISO9001 accreditation”.
The Quantum 4 takes into account state-of-the-art advancements in measuring technology, using the latest stress analysis software to ensure a rigid, yet light, design. This allows for greater variation in model sizes whilst maintaining accuracy.
