Mazak expands apprentice offering for budding service engineers

Yamazaki Mazak, one of the world’s largest manufacturers of CNC metal cutting machine tools, is on the lookout for budding service engineer apprentices to join the company.

Mazak, whose European headquarters is located in Worcester, is looking recruit two local apprentices to join its Field Service Engineering apprentice scheme. The company is also recruiting further apprentices for the scheme, who will be based in Southampton, Bury St Edmunds, Manchester and Newcastle.

The three-year scheme will involve comprehensive training programme, all of which will take place at the Worcester site, with a view to learning and honing the skills required to maintain, service and repair machine tools. The apprenticeship also includes both academic support and hands-on experience at one of Europe’s most advanced manufacturing facilities.

“Our apprentices form an integral part of the business in Worcester and to date we’ve trained over 150, many of whom are still working for the company in senior positions. Apprenticeships offer successful candidates much more than employment, they provide young people with a starting point in an industry which is going from strength-to-strength and shows no sign of slowing down.”
