The first tungsten concentrate has been recovered from a disused mine in the South West during trials staged by the firm hoping to reopen it.

Tungsten West is staging the trial as part of a programme at the Hemerdon tungsten and tin mine in Plympton. Devon.

The firm has raised nearly £30m to investigate restarting commercial operations next year at the site, which was operational for three years until 2018 under a previous operator.
