More Than Machines: Mazak Open House focuses on long-term manufacturing success
Yamazaki Mazak will demonstrate its unique position in the UK manufacturing sector when it opens the doors of its European headquarters this December for an extensive showcase of the latest in machine tool, automation and sheet metal technology.

Taking place from 1-3 December in Worcester, the Open House will provide existing customers and prospective investors with the opportunity to explore one of the industry’s most comprehensive manufacturing portfolios, all under one roof.
Throughout the Open House, visitors will be able to see 19 machines in action, several of which are exclusive UK debuts. This includes Mazak’s new fully integrated 12-pallet automation system, the CP-450, which is the company’s first automation system to be designed and built in Worcester.
Displayed alongside a Mazak CV5-500 machining centre – which has sold over 900 units and is one of five compatible machines – the CP-450 enables machine and automation to be combined into one integrated production platform. This encompasses integrated machine control, a single operator experience, simplified commissioning and a single Mazak support route.
A new series of high-precision press brakes from the OPTONICS ‘Powered by Mazak’ affiliate brand will also feature at the Open House. Extending Mazak’s sheet metal portfolio into bending, the range enables manufacturers to manage a connected CAD-to-cut-to-bend process through one trusted technology partner.
For subcontract manufacturers seeking to increase output without adding additional machines, the UK-made INTEGREX j-200 NEO Multi-Tasking machining centre will show how turret lathe users can consolidate multiple operations into a single set-up, reduce lead times, improve productivity and create greater profitability from high-mix, low-volume work.
Businesses producing larger volumes of smaller components (up to Ø51 mm) can explore the QRX-50 MSY, a machine designed to maximise throughput, improve consistency and accelerate return on investment in demanding sectors such as medical manufacturing.
Several of Mazak’s latest developments in laser processing technology will also make their UK debut at the event, including the new OPTIPLEX 3015 HP, which offers fast, stable processing of thick materials by combining high-power fibre-laser performance with consistent edge quality. Its 20 kW Mazak SmoothCUT resonator extends cutting capability across a broad range of materials without compromising process stability.
Alongside advanced manufacturing businesses and long-standing customers, the Open House is designed to support smaller businesses that may be considering their first machine tool investment. Specialists from across the business, including Mazak’s Applications Engineering team, will be available to discuss financing, project planning, training and productivity improvements, drawing on first-hand experience gained across a range of complex sectors including autosport, aerospace and medical.
Visitors will also be able to learn more about Mazak’s wider customer support network, including training programmes, preventative maintenance services, aftercare support and Mazak iCONNECT. Expert advice on connectivity, digitalisation and cyber security initiatives, including compliance with the upcoming Cyber Resilience Act, will also be available throughout the event.
Jason Butler, YMUK Sales Director at Yamazaki Mazak, comments: “Our December Open House is just a snapshot of the support and expertise that Mazak customers have access to all year round.
“Ultimately, there is no substitute for seeing technology in action and discussing specific manufacturing challenges with experienced engineers. Our goal is to make the event just as valuable for a small subcontractor considering its first Mazak as it is for an established manufacturer buying its twentieth.
“We’re confident there will be something of value for every manufacturing stakeholder, from owner-operators and apprentices through to production managers and business leaders, and we look forward to seeing as many visitors as possible over the course of the event.”
Tours of Mazak’s European Manufacturing Plant will be running throughout the Open House focusing on the latest investments, which have enabled the manufacture of higher-complexity machines tailored to the needs of the European machine tool market.
A limited selection of machine tools and laser systems targeted at the subcontract and SME markets will also be available to order throughout the event, each of which comes with special pricing, finance options and immediate delivery.
