WDS LAUNCHES UK’S ONLY RANGE OF 316 STAINLESS STEEL CLAMPING HANDLES

Estimated reading time 2 minutes

Due to its increased nickel content over 304 stainless steel, 316 graded stainless steel is less susceptible to corrosion. This makes it ideal for marine applications and applications requiring frequent wash-downs, such as food and pharmaceutical. To support these industries, WDS Component Parts has launched the UK’s first range of clamping handles made entirely  from 316 stainless steel.

WDS086___Stainless_Steel_Clamping_Handles_Pic1_PR3151_49376The ergonomic clamping handles provide easy operation and feature a ‘pocket-free’ design which prevents dirt build-up, making the cleaning process much easier. As the entire product is constructed from 316 stainless steel, the range is suitable for even the most aggressive cleaning regimes. The handles are precision investment cast for reliable and robust service.

Chris Putman, WDS Sales and Marketing Director, comments: “Having spoken to our customers we were aware that there was a need in the market for clamping handles which could withstand the rigours of corrosive environments. We set ourselves the challenge of designing a solution using food grade materials, that could survive both marine and hygiene critical applications, and which would remain cost competitive against lesser, 304 grade offerings on the market.

“I’m happy to say that we achieved all of our goals. What’s more, because the range is designed and manufactured in-house in Leeds, we can ensure fast delivery on all our orders and supply them at unbeatable prices.”

For use in applications where the handle position needs to be adjusted without releasing the applied torque, the clamping handles are designed with a release button which allows the user to depress the button and relocate the handle. The handle features 24 indexed positions making it ideal for applications where space is tight. To ensure that most design needs are catered for, the handles are available in sizes M6, M8 and M10, with female and male (3 thread lengths available) options.

The range compliments the existing WDS8237 and WDS8238 handle family, all of which can be found at www.wdsltd.co.uk. As with the rest of the WDS catalogue, free 3D and 2D CAD drawings are available to download to all registered visitors.
