Tinius Olsen is one of the world’s foremost specialist manufacturers and supplier of testing machinery for almost all industry sectors.  Our machines are designed for use in Research and Quality Control departments to Measure, Prove, and Check the strength and performance of materials, be they metals, composites, polymers, rubbers, adhesives, etc., and finished components.

We manufacture a diverse range of  equipment for a whole series of physical tests including measurement of tensile strength, shear strength, compression strength, flexural (or bending) strength , puncture / burst resistance, tear strength, peel strength, melt flow, impact resistance in both Charpy and Izod configurations, friction resistance, stiffness, heat distortion (or DTUL) / Vicat penetration, and torsional strength.

Most of our testing machinery and equipment can be connected to, and run from,  our Horizon software which also provides comprehensive test data analysis and subsequent SPC analyses on acquired test data.  All such tests are designed and implemented by Tinius Olsen in accordance with key international testing standards including ISO, EN, ASTM, DIN, BS, JIS and other industrial standards.

Tinius Olsen has been manufacturing, calibrating, and servicing physical testing equipment of the highest quality for decades. We have established an unsurpassed record of reliability, by building high quality machines, by encouraging customer programs of proper preventive maintenance, and by maintaining a trained field staff committed to maximising equipment performance and longevity. Our calibration equipment and software has been developed for the exclusive use of our calibration and service personnel, and it demonstrates our continuing commitment to your quality assurance and support needs. The software assures our customers of our strict compliance with the requirements of the applicable ISO.

Tinius Olsen’s calibration service is accredited in accordance with the International Standard ISO/IEC 17025:2005 by UKAS (United Kingdom Accreditation Service) for a variety of calibration standards.

UKAS are signatories to the ILAC (International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation) Mutual Recognition Arrangement, whose aim is to develop international cooperation for facilitating trade by promoting the acceptance of accredited tests and calibration results from accredited laboratories by industry, as well as government, including results from laboratories in other countries.
