Irish Engineering Company Secures CERN Opportunity Following Manufacturing Solutions Ireland

An Irish engineering company has demonstrated the power of industry networking after securing an opportunity to work with CERN following introductions made at the Manufacturing Solutions Ireland event held at TUS, Coonagh Cross Campus, Limerick on 11th June.
EFJ, a leading Irish precision engineering company, made valuable connections during the event that ultimately led to discussions with CERN, one of the world’s foremost scientific research organisations. The opportunity highlights the role that Manufacturing Solutions Ireland plays in bringing together manufacturers, technology providers and major end users to create meaningful business opportunities.
Organised by the Technological University of the Shannon & GTMA, Manufacturing Solutions Ireland has become a key event for companies looking to develop new partnerships, showcase their capabilities and access international markets.
For EFJ, the event proved to be much more than an exhibition. By engaging directly with delegates and industry representatives, the company was able to demonstrate its expertise in precision engineering and advanced manufacturing, opening the door to potential work supporting CERN’s world-renowned research programmes. The success of EFJ illustrates the importance of face-to-face engagement within the manufacturing sector. Events such as Manufacturing Solutions Ireland provide a unique environment where suppliers can meet major organisations, discuss technical capabilities and establish relationships that can lead to significant commercial opportunities.
Speaking about the success, TUS & GTMA said: “Manufacturing Solutions Ireland is designed to create genuine business opportunities for exhibitors. We’re delighted that EFJ has been able to develop a relationship with CERN as a direct result of participating in the event. It demonstrates the value of bringing together world-leading organisations with innovative manufacturing companies from across Ireland and the UK.”
EFJ Commented “We were delighted to meet delegates from CERN at Manufacturing Solutions Ireland, and subsequently to produce precision components for such a prestigious research organisation. Without the excellent work of the GTMA and TUS in bringing us together, this opportunity simply wouldn’t have happened.”
Comment from CERN “CERN would like to thank both TUS and GTMA for facilitating us and giving the opportunity to meet with a wide range of suppliers at Manufacturing Solutions Ireland, a market that had previously been largely untapped by CERN prior to the associate membership. These face-to-face meetings allowed for acceleration in the manufacturing process, resulting in parts being delivered to our site in Switzerland just one month after our initial engagements”.
Manufacturing Solutions Ireland continues to attract manufacturers, OEMs, technology providers, research organisations and engineering specialists from across Ireland, the UK and Europe. The event focuses on strengthening supply chains, encouraging collaboration and showcasing the innovation and expertise that exists within the manufacturing sector.
With success stories such as EFJ’s, the event continues to demonstrate its value as a catalyst for business growth and international collaboration.
