A major sustainable aviation fuel refinery planned for the Port of Immingham is set to create more than 500 construction jobs and establish a new advanced fuels manufacturing industry in the Humber.
ETFuels has selected Associated British Ports’ Port of Immingham for Project King’s Road, a facility that will convert renewable e-methanol into sustainable aviation fuel (e-SAF) for the UK market and exports.
The scheme will also create 50 permanent engineering, operations and maintenance jobs, with average salaries of £41,500 – around 18 per cent above the median wage in North East Lincolnshire.
The refinery will use imported renewable e-methanol from ETFuels’ production platform in Texas before upgrading it into aviation fuel at Immingham, taking advantage of the Humber’s existing fuel storage, pipeline and distribution network.
