Do you know what it takes to be a UKAS-accredited laboratory?

7th September, 2026 Estimated reading time 2 minutes

Optimax, a certified UKAS laboratory measurement accuracy isn’t a marketing claim—it’s a UKAS audited reality.

Every 4 years we are required to go through a re-accreditation assessment; this is an exhaustive process designed to maintain our status as a UKAS-approved laboratory. Recently completed, we are proud to announce that Optimax has been reaccredited as a UKAS-approved laboratory under the ISO 17025 umbrella, covering various optical dimensional schedules, through to 2030.

This does not mean that we wait 4 years prior to re audit, each interim year UKAS returns for surveillance visits ensuring tight ongoing compliance.

This exhaustive process doesn’t give us a badge on our wall; It requires us to prove technical competence, traceable calibration standards and continuous improvement under external audit conditions.

What does this mean for your business?

  • Absolute Measurement Certainty: Confidence that every measurement you make, after a UKAS calibration is carried out, is traceable, with a clear, published uncertainty.
  • Risk Reduction: Audited processes mean zero guesswork, protecting your supply chain from costly measurement errors and non-compliance.
  • Seamless Compliance: Your own quality audits become easier when your metrology partner holds the globally recognised UKAS ISO 17025 testing laboratory standard.

We do the hard work behind the scenes so that when you rely on Optimax, your quality and precision are guaranteed thanks to UKAS accreditation.
