UK Government defence spending reached a record £34.1bn in 2025/26, providing a significant boost to manufacturers and suppliers across the country.

New figures from the Ministry of Defence (MOD) show that spending with UK industry increased by 3.2% in real terms during the year, equivalent to an additional £1.1bn. The figure represents the highest level of MOD expenditure with UK industry since records began in 2013/14. The increase comes as the government seeks to strengthen the UK’s domestic defence industrial base, with manufacturers expected to play a central role in delivering new military capabilities while supporting wider industrial growth.
