SSE has reported “continued strong delivery across regulated networks”, with investment around 70% higher year-on-year and renewables output up around 20% due to more favourable weather conditions.
The half-year trading update showed the energy group is expecting adjusted earnings per share of between 64 and 68 pence, reflecting lower levels of seasonality, given the increasing proportion of regulated networks earnings.
It reiterated adjusted earnings per share guidance of between 168p and 193p for 2026/27 and between 225p and 250p for 2029/30.

A Scottish Government plan to boost the offshore wind supply chain is “making slow progress” and faces multiple risks to achieving its aims.
A new report from the Auditor General is critical of the five-year Offshore Wind Investment Programme (OWIP), which was launched in 2023.
It aims to spend £500m of public money to speed up building of the port infrastructure and manufacturing facilities needed to support Scotland’s offshore wind development projects, but so far only £141 million has been committed across 17 projects, due to reasons such as reduced investor confidence and wider regulatory issues.
