A new portable measuring arm with better scanning and touch probe measurement accuracy will be unveiled by Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence UK at MACH on stand 5710.
The Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence ROMER Absolute 77 Series arm, available in five sizes from 2.5m to 4.5m, can be switched on and used straightaway with no need for warm- up or referencing while probe changes can be made without recalibration.
It has been positioned as the top-of-the-range option in the Series, which already includes 73 and 75 versions. According to Hexagon, the new arm offers 20% better scanning accuracy and 15% improved touch probe measurement than the 75 Series model.
The 77 Series arm is compatible with all Hexagon laser scanners including the HP-L-20.8 and HP-L-8.9 external units as well as the RS3 integrated scanner. All arms are available in 6 and 7 axis configurations.
Other new products to be revealed at the show include the Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence GLOBAL EVO co-ordinate measuring machine, which features Fly2Mode, the next generation of trajectory-optimising technology, an entry-level, high specification co- ordinate measuring machine and the new T-Scan scanner for the Leica laser tracker series.
