Bowers’ Indicator of Swiss Quality

Bowers Group, the UK agent for the renowned Swiss Metrology manufacturer Sylvac, has launched a range of advanced, ‘shop floor proof’ Sylvac digital indicators that are water and coolant resistant. Available in a generous measuring capacity of 50mm, the tough but accurate S_Dial Pro indicators have a resolution of 0.0001 mm and an impressive repeatability specification of 0.0002mm.

Manufactured from materials that are able to withstand extended shop floor use and employing a mixed ceramic bearing / ball bearing system for smooth operation and extended working life, the new Sylvac digital indicators can be fitted with a wide range of contact points.

With a large, highly visible LCD digital readout displaying all measurements, a simple 3-button operating system gives the S_Dial Pro user easy access to a wide range of useful features. In addition to a metric/inch conversion, the new Sylvac indicators have zero setting, a preset input facility, Min/Max/Delta and tolerance functions with LEDs integrated into the display indicating tolerance status and the possibility to change measurement direction. If required, S_Dial PRO indicators can be programmed manually or by a PC (disabling and enabling various modes and button function), they are also able to transmit their readings via USB / RS232 output

Helping the digital Indicators’ impressive 2 year battery life, Sylvac’s S_Dial Pro uses an automatic wake-up and sleeping system. A period of inactivity places the indicators into an energy saving ‘sleep’ mode, whilst any indicator activity reactivates the gauges and returns them to their pre-sleep status.
