FREE TO ATTEND WORKSHOP on Topography Measurement co-hosted by The University of Manchester

To help those using, or planning to use non-contact optical methods for surface inspection, Alicona UK is holding again by popular demand a workshop on topography measurement.

Non-Contact Topography Measurement Workshop Tuesday, 25th October, 2016 10:00 am – 2:00 pm at the University of Manchester

The workshop, kindly hosted by Dr Marc Schmidt, will give an introduction into non-contact measurements using Infinite Focus Measurement Technology. The event will be ideal for those both in industry and research who need to measure and understand surface through measurement. The day will cover a number of technologies, including Contact Metrology Theory, Optical Measurement Methods and Sources of Error, plus on show the new revolutionary InfiniteFocus SL.
Bring your own samples

The event will be supported by experienced metrologists and equipment to allow attendees to bring samples to see and experience the relative performances and advantages of the Alicona surface measurement method.

Topics covered will include
•Why non-contact topography can give advantages during surface measurement
•A brief overview of the different technologies available – Theory of Stylus, Laser, ScanningConfocal Gauges, White Light Interferometry and Infinite Focus
•Single point, area mapping, full-field area and ultra-high resolution measurements
•Sources of measurement error
•Details of instruments utilising the technologies
•Application examples and ideas
