Metal Additive Simulation Software Hands-on Workshop

This hands-on workshop (26th April)introduces the software solution from Simufact for improving the process of AM manufacture. The application calculates deformation and residual stresses in AM parts, through simulation, which includes allowing for variation in support structure and build-up orientation. Post-build processes such as heat treatment and support removal can be simulated to give the final net shape deformation and residual stress. Simulation thus reduces scrap, material and energy costs; improves machine utilisation and knowledge of likely fatigue life and hence can see a return on investment in a very short period.

The software is simple to use but utilises advanced analysis techniques “under the hood”.

The workshop covers an introduction to Simufact followed by a hands-on workshop where you can try the software, and discuss applications with our consultants.

Numbers are limited, so please book early.

Q and A

Do I need to bring hardware?

No – all hardware and software is supplied

Can I bring my own model to try?

For the sake of time efficiency, we will use our own example. However, please feel free to bring these for discussion on how to move to the next step in evaluating our solution for you particular application.

Can I have an evaluation licence?

Following the workshop, there is an option to have an evaluation of the software, but will be subject to a charge to cover support and consultation during the evaluation period.

Is there an option to rent the software?

There are both rental and purchase options on the software.

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

If travelling by car, we have a couple of parking bays in front of the building.
If travelling by train, the nearest train station is Long Hanborough – a 10 minute walk from the training venue.

How can I contact the organiser with any questions?
