The Ministry of Defence has awarded a contract worth over £114m to Scott Aerospace in Bristol to provide support for the Royal Navy’s submarine mechanical and secondary steam propulsion equipment.

The Submarine Mechanical and Secondary Steam Propulsion Equipment Support (SMASSES) contract covers the supply of spares and repairs across a range of components critical to the operation of the UK’s nuclear-powered submarine fleet.
