Industrial Metals News – Early July 2026
The company behind the project to reopen a disused tin mine in Devon is to begin its production ramp-up later this month, it announced today.
Plymouth-based Tungsten West is targeting full project commissioning at the Hemerdon site in Plympton by the first quarter of next year.
It says the site has the capacity to supply around a fifth of the world’s supply of primary tungsten outside of China.
It has already recruited more than 100 people to work on the site and by the time production starts it will have a head count of 350.
