A business which specialises in sewer maintenance and repair has been forced to call in the administrators.  Administrators from restructuring and recovery specialist Leonard Curtis have been appointed to Colus Ltd which has its head office in Highbridge.

The company, headquartered in Somerset, but which also has depots in Rotherham, Leicester and Weston Super Mare and employs around 85 people.  Its clients included JN Bentley, Barhale, Yorkshire Water, WSP, May Gurney, Severn Trent Water, Enviroco and Anglian Water.

A Leicestershire manufacturer of conveyors, access platforms and robotics and automation has called in administrators after a troubled few weeks.

Sapcote Engineering, which is based in Broughton Astley, has posted two notices of intention (NOI) to appointment administrators through law firm Shoosmiths either side of Christmas.  Now, according to documents filed at Companies House, administrators from FRP Advisory were called in to look after the day-to-day running of the firm on January 12.

Bodycote, the Macclesfield-based provider of heat treatment and specialist thermal processing services, has completed the takeover of a North American business, but pulled out of another deal which will provide funds to commence a share buyback programme this spring.

Further to the announcement on October 9, 2023, the acquisition of Lake City HT successfully completed on January 19, 2024.

The consideration paid on closing for Lake City HT was £52m on a cash and debt free basis.
