Energy-from-waste plant operator Enfinium has announced the next phase of its £1.7bn carbon capture and storage (CCS) pilot programme, with projects set to launch in both Wales and West Yorkshire.

The energy-from-waste (EfW) operator will install a CCS pilot at its Parc Adfer facility in Flintshire, North Wales, which it claims to be the only active carbon capture pilot in Wales.

The project at Parc Adfer is expected to capture up to 235,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide annually. This follows Enfinium’s previous commitment to invest around £200m in the facility.
