Rolls-Royce SMR has secured a landmark UK contract to help deliver the country’s first small modular reactors. The agreement with Great British Energy – Nuclear marks a major boost for the UK’s next-generation nuclear programme.
The two-stage contract is expected to accelerate site-specific design work, early construction planning and procurement of long lead-time components for the proposed Wylfa site in North Wales.
It also gives greater certainty to the UK’s SMR programme and strengthens Rolls-Royce SMR’s position in the emerging European market.
