Rolls-Royce SMR has taken a step forward in its UK small modular reactor programme by signing a multimillion-pound deal with nuclear technology firm BWX Technologies.
The agreement covers the supply of nuclear steam generators and includes a memorandum of understanding to support the first units in a global fleet of Rolls-Royce SMRs.
BWXT Canada, a subsidiary of the US-listed BWX Technologies based in Ontario, has more than 60 years of experience producing steam generators for the nuclear sector, supplying over 315 units to plants worldwide.
