Over the past two years, Starrett has been working with the EUFS team – offering our expert support in precision tooling – donating products to the cause and opening our facilities to the team.

“To make a really accurate chassis – from which the rest of the design builds from, the starting point is to come from really good tools”, “thankfully we have Starrett who are able to supply us with really good tools”, says Gregor Birrell, President of the Edinburgh University Formula Student Team.

Steadily, EUFS have been building their reputation as a formidable team in the competition. Each year out performing their goals and progressing in rank. Innovation is at the heart of this team as each year they push towards new technologies that are the future of their discipline. In 2019, they take on their biggest challenge yet as they prepare to not only present the 4th generation of their classic internal combustion car but also – a never before seen in the UK, student built autonomous car – aiming to reach the no 1 ranking spot in Scotland and top 15 in the UK.

As a team who already invests their own personal time and budgets into the project, it shows an exceptional level of professionalism and dedication. Immersing the students directly into a deeply competitive industry – all the while studying for their degrees.

Starrett are pleased to be a part of the team’s journey, as they prepare for their most ambition year so far. To find out more, visit
