Braithwaite Re-Build
The company Braithwaite rebuild was established in 1993 when Bridgeport ceased the manufacture of machine tools in Bridlington.
Bridgeport started production of the Bridgeport ( under license from Bridgeport America by Adcock and Shipley) in 1962 .
A total of 50,000 machines were produced at the Bridlington factory.
The workforce are all Bridgeport trained machine tool craftsmen. Terry Braithwaite, the proprietor, started a craft apprenticeship with Adcock and Shipley in 1968. The Bridgeport has changed very little over the years and there is still a big demand for the versatile machine.
