WNT UK will be exhibiting at The World of Stainless Steel Open Day on the 17-18 November 2015. The event is being hosted by Prosaw at its technical centre in Kettering on the 17th and 18th November and as the only cutting tool company attending, WNT will partner with XYZ Machine Tools to demonstrate the latest in cutting tool, toolholding and workholding technology. If you are machining stainless steel, The World of Stainless Steel open house is the place to be and will provide a fantastic opportunity to speak to the WNT technical sales engineers, get the latest information on cutting tools, toolholding and workholding and improve your metalcutting performance. Registration is free and also includes access to a range of forums and workshops being held over the two day event.
Among WNT’s catalogue of over 45,000 high quality products it has an extensive range of solid carbide and indexable insert tooling aimed squarely at the high performance machining of stainless steel. Its range covers every aspect of metalcutting from turning, drilling, milling, grooving, finish-boring. Visitors are encouraged to bring along their drawings to find out how WNT can enhance your stainless steel machining efficiency. Achieving this through use of the latest in cutting tool technology and applications knowledge.
For example, WNT’s Dragonskin HCN 5235 and HCF 5240 milling insert grades are delivering significant cycle time reductions on stainless steel and heat resistant alloys. Machining times are being cut by as much as 40 per cent, with tool life increases of 50 per cent being reported. Another insert range benefitting from WNT’s Dragonskin coating technology is the HCN 2125 series of turning inserts for stainless steel. These positive geometry inserts open up many possibilities for productivity and tool life improvement. Available in two geometries for fine finishing and medium roughing applications the inserts can operate at feedrates between 0,06 – 0,35 mm/rev at depths of cut up to 4.8 mm. Similalrly, the use of WNT’s HPC solid carbide cutters and a change of machining strategy on an S-series stainless steel component at a customer working in the oil & gas sector saw cycle time fall from four hours to 1.5 hours, quality was also improved as the new milling strategy eliminated the step-over marks left by the previous indexable insert cutters
If you want to benefit from similar productivity gains, book your place at The World of Stainless Steel Open House and come along and talk to WNT (UK). The World of Stainless Steel 17-18 November 2015
