A measured success at MACH for WNT (UK)

WNT (UK)’s attendance at MACH 2014 was one of its best ever, with over 1200 registered visitors to its stand during the week long exhibition and, a figure of double that actually visiting the stand. Those visitors were attracted by the latest cutting tool developments along with incentives to place orders there and then.

For all pre-registered visitors who took advantage of WNT’s MACH 2014 deal at the show they not only had the opportunity to double their spending power, but also walked away with a free Mitutoyo digital vernier caliper. “Over 420 customers took advantage of the offer during the week, ordering more than £100,000 of tooling at the exhibition,” says Tony Pennington, Managing Director, WNT (UK). “Just as important as these orders at the exhibition was the high level of interest in how we can work with customers to provide cost-effective cutting tool and workholding solutions. As a result, our Technical Sales Engineers are going to be very busy in the coming weeks working through all of the enquiries, and requests for visits. What was particularly good to see was the number of applications that customers wanted to discuss there and then on the stand. It all bodes very well for the continued positive outlook for UK manufacturing.”


With such a diverse product range visitors had lots to see on WNT’s stand at MACH 2014, including the new HCN 5235 and HCF5240 grades that have been developed for high performance milling of heat resistant alloys and titanium of new applications and customers. The new grades are generating milling cycle time savings of 50 per cent, or more, combined with increased tool life. Extended insert life is also a feature of the new HCR1135 inserts for steel turning, which make gains of up to 200 per cent when machining in machining conditions, where the component has intermittent or difficult to machine surfaces, such as forgings and cast steel components with hard skins, or where the cut is heavily interrupted.
