Friday 30th January 2015, Third Dimension proudly collected the Outstanding Export Award at the prestigious regional EEF/Aldermore Future Manufacturing Awards.
The award, which was sponsored by Dunedin, celebrates the achievements of manufacturers that have developed and implemented a successful new export strategy. The company was selected by a panel of judges drawn from business leaders, industry experts and academics and was up against stiff competition from a range of businesses, small and large, from across the South West and South Wales.
Also recognised was Airbus Operations, another Filton-based manufacturer of aircraft wings, fuel systems and landing gear, who was named runner-up for the Environmental Efficiency award. This award recognises manufacturers that have done the most to improve their environmental performance.
Third Dimension will now go on to find out if it has won the national title at an awards gala dinner in London in April.
Peter Marchbank, Third Dimension’s CEO, said: “It is great to see that all our hard work has paid off and we can’t wait to tell our staff, customers and suppliers the good news. It’s great to get this far and now we’re looking forward to finding out how we get on in the national awards in April.”
Nicol Fraser, Partner at Dunedin, says: “Congratulations to Third Dimension and Airbus Operations on their well-deserved success. Exporting is key to success in a competitive global economy and manufacturers such as Third Dimension are playing an important part in driving the UK’s economic growth.”
EEF, the manufacturers’ organisation, is the representative voice of UK manufacturing, with offices in London, Brussels, every English region and Wales, with over 20,000 members.
