Desktop Engineering (DTE), a leading engineering software solutions provider, today announced membership of the GTMA – a UK-based trade association which represents leading companies in precision engineering, rapid product development, toolmaking, tooling technologies, metrology and other critical manufacturing related products and services.

Martin Boon, business development director at GTMA, said: “We are delighted to have DTE onboard as it brings an in-depth knowledge of the latest cutting edge 3D solutions to our supply chain initiatives. We are a key component of the UK’s engineering supply chain, providing value-added services to our members and representing their expertise to leading OEMs and Tier 1s. Our membership base is seen by buyers as a valuable resource for either building or extending an existing supply chain.”

Geoff Haines, managing director at DTE, said: “As a company, we are at the forefront of engineering innovation in the UK. Our portfolio of software solutions includes CAD, CAM, FEA, CAE and PLM technologies which are used by some of the biggest names in the aerospace, automotive and manufacturing industries. For those supply chains working with the GTMA, we offer specialist skills which are defined by our core values – integrity, responsiveness and technical excellence.”

Alongside offering full turnkey solutions, DTE provides accredited software training courses which have been developed over many years to provide concise, comprehensive training to users of various engineering software suites. DTE courses are trainer-led and include instruction and demonstration of all relevant commands and functionality. The exercises are structured and designed to ensure that the user has to think about how to employ the functionality and techniques just taught – moving away from the worked example type exercise, with a clear emphasis on interaction and discussion.
