PDQ have invested in a Doosan Puma 480L Turning Centre to add capacity into the heavy turning section. Now an order has been placed for another machine from Mills CNC Ltd, a Doosan Lynx 220LYC. This machine has 65mm diameter bar capacity, a maximum turning diameter of 300mm with a turning length of 510mm and a y-axis of 105mm.

Managing director Paul Jackson comments ‘The decision to purchase capital equipment during a period of time when the Oil and Gas Industry is quiet has been a difficult one. However, at PDQ we have decided to continue with our policy of continued investment. We will therefore be in a very strong position when that marketplace picks up. The new Lynx lathe will provide greater flexibility and capability for components under 300mm diameter. This will give our customers a broader service and the ability to produce components in a more efficient manner’

Success at PDQ Engineering Ltd continues on the back of the consistent updating / expansion of the machine shop, leading to the ultimate goal of ‘absolute customer satisfaction’.
