The recently announced open house at WNT (UK)’s technical centre in Sheffield, being held in conjunction with XYZ Machine Tools provides several reasons to attend, not least of which is the opportunity to see the latest productivity boosting cutting tools in action on a range of XYZ machine tools and materials.
The event takes place on Wednesday 3rd December and Thursday 4th December, with the doors open between 8:00 and 15:00 on both days. Visitors will see first-hand the performance of WNT’s latest high feed indexable milling system, the impressive MCR solid carbide cutters, designed for Vortex and trochoidal milling strategies cutters as well as the innovative MNG Zero Point workholding system.
Every visitor will also have the opportunity to take away a solid carbide milling cutter of any diameter to test back on their own machines.
In addition, anyone registering for the event and placing an order of £150 or more, on either of the days, will also receive a Mitutoyo digital vernier caliper.
It is not all work at a WNT open house, though, for those feeling energetic, or just charitable, there is also the opportunity to win an ex-demo Empire MX6 mountain bike by entering the raffle in support of the British Heart Foundation and Cancer Research.
The MX6 bike is manufactured using WNT tooling and is a top of the range All-Mountain bike that retailed at just short of £4000. And, for the petrolheads the WNT sponsored F2 powerboat and its driver Steve Hoult will be in attendance, as will Sam Burman with her WNT Burman Racing Moto3 motorcycle, on which she competes in the The Motul Motostar British Championship.
