A new 2014 version has been released for the PSL Datatrack production management and business administration software which deals with all management and administration steps from initial quotation through to invoice. This new version makes investment in the system even more attractive for manufacturers of sub-contract and make-to-order items, particularly for those in the aerospace and other high traceability industry sectors.
Highly commended in the 2014 MWP Awards, PSL Datatrack’s new features have been created through market research and collaboration with existing users via PSL’s wish list. Compatible with Windows 8, PSL Datatrack now brings greater flexibility and productivity to many different Datatrack application areas.
‘With the features available in the 2014 release, PSL Datatrack continues to innovate, provide the management controls that are vital to our business and our strive for constant improvement,” Jason Nicholson, Unicut Precision Ltd
The new CRM/Task module is a versatile sales, marketing and task management tool that provides the foundations for improvements for all customer focused and background administration. The module, which can be linked specifically to PSL Datatrack data or be used to manage tasks outside of Datatrack, incorporates the highly popular document management feature.
With a choice of styles for Shop Floor Data Collection (SFDC), the new release offers more detailed management information and greater functionality. It provides greater analysis of time spent on machine setting, production and down time. Other important new features include: optional verification on drawing issue numbers to help guard against the manufacture of an old issue; for greater analysis, scrap codes can be defined and selected when scrap quantities are entered.
Instrument & Gauge calibration remains an essential management task for precision engineering sub-contractors. For quality control, in PSL Datatrack, improvements to calibration requirements reporting together with clearer/quicker identification of tool locations & calibration intervals have reduced the time taken for managing calibration. A supervisor option is also now available to manage who can delete and change the status of any instrument or gauge.
Additional options have been added to the existing automated traceability of materials received and components received back from sub-contract processes. These options provide more flexibility for the recording and reporting of supplier certificates, mill certificates and goods in inspection procedures.
