Based in North Manchester and established in 1982 the £15 million turnover business that operates from a 6 acre 135,000 sq ft site took delivery in December of an additional AGIE CHARMILLES E 600 EDM MACHINE.
The purchase was part of a combined £2.5 million investment during 2018 which included injection moulding presses, robotics, software, training, logistic equipment and human resources.

The EDM process is continuously optimized with every impulse, drastically reducing electrode wear on even the finest of finishes. Process control takes a fraction of a second and produces an extremely homogeneous surface finish. The high-power generator has maximum output of 140 A on this solution.

The new machine features the latest-generation GF Machining Solutions Intelligent Speed Power Generator (ISPG), a TECFORM module to enhance machining efficiency and reduce unproductive time, and easy setup for a quick start to erosion.
The investment was a necessary step in light of an increasing order book as the company wish to maintain highly competitive lead times for its growing customer base. Industries served include Automotive, Electrical, Construction, Lighting, Medical, and Food and Beverage to name but a few. The company has a fleet of 68 mould presses ranging from 50t to 1100t and processes over 20 differing material compounds offering a highly flexible service to its customers.
In addition to its own high specification toolroom the company have for many years the benefit of over-seas toolmaking facilities with several long term partners. This allows for a totally flexible approach to client needs and requirements relating to cost performance lead-times and product functionality.
