UKTI / Institute of Directors – Non-Executive Directors to help SMEs Build Export Success

Could a non executive director help your company to increase exports?

A pilot initiative by UK Trade and Investment in  partnership with the Institute of Directors aims to help West Midlands SMEs to bring internationally experienced non executive  directors on board.

exportUKTI and the IoD share the view  that SMEs can benefit hugely from recruiting non-executive directors who can bring to bear their knowledge and experience while taking an objective view of the business as a whole.

Nowhere can they be of greater value than on the subject of exports.

An immense bank of export expertise exists in the West Midlands and the new initiative aims to channel those skills into smaller businesses keen to start exploiting lucrative and expanding markets abroad.

If the pilot initiative proves to be successful then it is hoped the scheme will be  rolled out across the UK.

If you are interested in bringing on board a non executive director and would like further information please contact Steve Havins, Head of Partnerships and Business Development, UKTI West Midlands at steve.havins@mobile.ukti.gov.uk  or  philip.gray@commercialdoctor.com
