Thomas Keating's ancestry dates back to the 1700s, and the Company has been engaged in the craft of toolmaking since 1940. With a reputation for accuracy and attention to detail, Thomas Keating Ltd were proud to have received the Queens Award for Enterprise for International trade in 2012.


The company is a scientific instruments and mould tool manufacturer with a reputation for accuracy and attention to detail. Manufacturing single and multi-cavity tools for complex and technical mouldings in the electronic and medical fields including medical parts, hearing aids, aerosols, spray dispensers and rigid packaging.
Recent scientific projects include designing and building antennas for TROPICS, a NASA-Funded MIT CubeSat mission and three Quasi-Optical Networks design, built and tested by TK for Eumetsat Metop-SG Microwave Sounder (MWS).
Utilising design capabilities and the toolmaking skills of our highly skilled staff, Thomas Keating Ltd has become a world leader in the manufacture of instruments and electroformed (copper, nickel and gold plated) wave-guide component technology in the field of science and space exploration.
We have a fully integrated CAD/CAM capability built around PTC Creo and EdgeCAM software, with direct Ethernet links to all of our numerous CNC machines.
Our Jig Grinding capabilities include 3 CNC and 3 Manual Moore machines in a temperature controlled room where we process vital parts for the aerospace, motorsport and food packaging industries to a high accuracy with a quick turn round.
We have recently had our 400 Moore jig grinder rebuilt giving the machine better than original build tolerances.
This all allows TK to offer a subcontract service for the grinding of forms, holes, punches and dies etc. Tolerances of 4 microns are the norm!
Recent production machinery investment added to our manufacturing base is an Agie Cut P 350 Pro wire machine that will enhance our wire erosion capability, plus a 150k RPM spindle utilising our 5-axis milling machines with Ø0.1 mm cutters!
