Apex Metrology Ltd provides independent support for CMM users with over 100 years of direct CMM experience. Apex’s diverse manufacturers’ experience allows for greater knowledge of CMM applications and enables the provision of more efficient solutions across customer installed equipment.

The Metrology Centre is situated adjacent to the world-class Edinburgh Technopole Science Park, which has focused on research and development since 1946, pioneering new high-tech innovative solutions.

Programming and Validation

• Planned common programming methods are used by qualified Applications Engineers to ensure consistency and quality of results. Program structures are designed to suit client standards.
• Independent validation of existing or new programs to ensure they meet the requirements of the design standard.
• Experienced in multiple metrology software, both current and obsolete.

Measurement Services

• A broad measurement capability to dimensionally measure components either at our facility or on-site at clients with portable equipment.
• Dimensional calibration/verification of jigs and fixtures to ensure they are fit for use.

Calibration and Preventative Maintenance

• Traceable calibration/verification to national standards for CMM and Portable CMM systems.
• Preventative maintenance schedules to ensure equipment maintains accuracy.

CMM and Portable CMM Sales

• As an independent company, we provide unbiased recommendations for the client application to ensure that the best structure and/or metrology software is provided.
• Second user systems can be sourced to suit client application.

Upgrades

• Many CMM structures can be upgraded to the latest metrology software, controller and probing systems. Skilled Support Engineers will complete a site survey and report viability and if appropriate, make the correct technical proposal for the upgrade.

Training

• Training by Applications Engineers to ensure it is relevant to the CMM configuration and part application that the trainees will have to use the machine for.
• A broad range of current and obsolete software products is supported.

Fixturing Solutions

Application driven solutions using either modular fixturing solutions for flexibility or a bespoke design to provide repeatability, consistency and speed. Both options are reviewed with clients to determine which is the most suitable.
