Grab Management Services Ltd (GMS) was formed in 2009 and is an owner operated company employing a small dedicated work force based in Canley in the West Midlands.

The company operates from its own 9000 sq ft premises, turnover is in the region of £1mio supplying the automotive, whitegoods and general engineering sectors in the UK and historically mainland Spain.

They are fully equipped to manufacture Metal Stamping tools up to 400T as well as designing and manufacturing jigs and fixtures and providing a subcontract machining service.

The management team have wide ranging experience in setting up and operating direct engineering support operations on customers premises. Historically this has been from supplying direct labour and management input to providing fully equipped tool maintenance facility via a full TUPE transfer of existing staff.

They have successfully managed 6 large projects over the last 10 – 15 years including Johnson Controls and Waggon Automotive.

Subcontracting inhouse tooling functions to an experienced committed third party with a wealth of experience has significant ongoing benefits:

• A committed third party contractor will provide the management time and effort that these important functions require. Very often availability and condition of in house tooling and systems can be mission critical.
• As a member of the GTMA with access to a large database of the latest technologies and systems to improve customers tool management systems and procedures.
• Focusing full time on the objective of providing an effective tool maintenance service, providing a valuable input to normal management functions with the company.
• Using the correct performance management systems you can expect improvements in tooling productivity, machine down time and improvements in part quality.
• Using their own manufacturing processes and/or existing equipment on site you can expect reductions in the costs of subcontract.
• Very often a “fresh pair of eyes” can provide the impetuous needed to produce a step change in your tooling management function.
