We provide subcontract EDM services, including wire and spark erosion, to manufacturing and engineering customers across the UK, with Excel Precision Birmingham Ltd also offering a dedicated tooling division.

Capabilities, Tool Room & Inspection

Metrology-Backed Precision and CMM Inspection
Our manufacturing capability is supported by a fully equipped, temperature-controlled tool room and inspection department. Using advanced Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and optical inspection equipment, we provide full dimensional verification and traceability to help reduce risk and ensure components meet demanding quality requirements.

EDM Electrode Holders, Fixturing and Tooling
Excel Precision Birmingham’s tooling division manufactures bespoke EDM fixtures, electrode holders and specialist workholding solutions. With more than 50 years of collective expertise in jig, fixture and tooling design, we have supported aerospace and blue-chip customers since 1983, including major organisations such as Rolls-Royce. Our understanding of EDM processes, fixture design and electrode manufacture enables us to design tooling that secures the correct part orientation, provides reliable earthing and protects components during production. We manufacture specialist electrode holders using 3R or Erowa reference plates to support accurate, repeatable EDM operations.

From our operating centres in Gloucester and Birmingham, we support local engineering businesses while also delivering world-class wire and spark erosion services to larger blue-chip organisations across the UK. Our customers operate in demanding sectors including aerospace and defence, space, oil and gas, petrochemical, chemical, nuclear, biomedical, automotive, white goods and general precision engineering.
